Unclaimed Money in Philippines
The Philippines has a structured dormant accounts law under Republic Act 3936 (as amended by Presidential Decree 679). Bank accounts that have been dormant for 10 years are reported to and may be transferred to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). BSP then holds these funds available for claim by rightful owners.
The BSP does not currently operate a single public search portal, but dormant account procedures are well-established. The major Philippine banks โ BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Security Bank, and PNB โ all have dormant account processes and can be contacted directly.

Required Documentation
To claim a dormant Philippine bank account, you will need: a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, SSS, GSIS, or PhilHealth ID), your Tax Identification Number (TIN), proof of last known address, and for estate claims, a court-issued Letters Testamentary or Letters of Administration.
The Philippine TIN (Tax Identification Number from BIR) is commonly linked to bank accounts, though not mandatory for all legacy accounts. Providing the account number, last known balance, or any old passbooks or statements will significantly assist the search.
