Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how cryptoandmoneysearch.com ("we", "us", "our", "the Site") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit or use our free unclaimed money and cryptocurrency search tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our site works.
By using this website, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.
1. Who We Are
CryptoAndMoneySearch.com is a free information service that helps individuals search for unclaimed money and cryptocurrency assets across government databases, exchange bankruptcy claims portals, and official regulatory websites in over 30 countries. We do not hold, manage, or transfer any funds on behalf of users. We are not a financial institution, broker, or claims administrator.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Our search tool is designed with privacy at its core. When you enter personal details such as your name, date of birth, or cryptocurrency wallet address into our search tool, that information is never sent to our servers. All searches are processed locally in your browser. We use your inputs only to construct direct links to official government and regulatory websites, which open in new tabs. We do not store, log, or transmit any search queries you perform.
3. Information Collected Automatically
Like virtually all websites, our web server automatically records standard access logs each time a page is requested. These logs may include your IP address, the type of browser you are using, your operating system, the referring URL (the page you came from), the pages you visit on our site, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used solely for security monitoring, diagnosing technical issues, and understanding aggregate traffic patterns. It is not linked to any personal search you perform, and it is not shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days, after which they are automatically deleted.
4. Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our site in aggregate — for example, which pages are most visited, how long people spend on the site, and which countries our visitors come from. GA4 collects anonymised usage data through cookies and similar tracking technologies. This data is processed by Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
We have configured GA4 with IP anonymisation enabled, meaning your full IP address is never stored by Google Analytics. We do not use GA4 to collect personally identifiable information, and we do not share GA4 data with any third party other than Google as the analytics processor.
5. Cookies and Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads that may be relevant to you based on your browsing history across websites that use Google's advertising network. These are third-party cookies set by Google, not by us directly.
The types of cookies that may be placed when you visit our site include:
- Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage and traffic patterns (e.g., _ga, _ga_XXXXXXXX).
- Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense to personalise and measure ads (e.g., IDE, DSID, FLC).
- Preference cookies — used by Google to remember your ad personalisation settings.
We do not place any first-party tracking or advertising cookies ourselves. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or by using the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings.
6. Third-Party Links
Our search tool links directly to official government portals, exchange claims administrators, and regulatory databases operated by third parties. Examples include unclaimed property databases run by state and federal agencies, bankruptcy claims portals managed by court-appointed administrators, and national financial regulators. We have no control over, and take no responsibility for, the privacy practices or content of those external websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of each external site you visit before submitting any personal information.
7. Data Security
Our site is served exclusively over HTTPS with TLS encryption, which means all data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted in transit. Because we do not collect or store personal search data, there is no personal database on our servers that could be exposed in the event of a security breach. We apply industry-standard server hardening practices and keep software dependencies up to date to minimise security risks.
8. Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us immediately at contact@cryptoandmoneysearch.com and we will take steps to delete any such information promptly.
9. Your GDPR Rights (EEA and UK Users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR:
- Right of access — you may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — you may ask us to correct inaccurate personal data.
- Right to erasure — you may ask us to delete your personal data ("the right to be forgotten").
- Right to restriction of processing — you may ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability — you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object — you may object to certain types of processing, including direct marketing.
- Rights related to automated decision-making — you have the right not to be subject to decisions made solely by automated processing that significantly affect you.
Because we do not store personal search data, there is typically no personal data for us to action against most of these requests. However, if you have questions or wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@cryptoandmoneysearch.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority, such as the ICO (UK), the CNIL (France), or the relevant authority in your country.
10. Your CCPA Rights (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information is collected about you, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information to third parties. We do not knowingly collect personal information from California residents beyond the anonymised server access logs described in Section 3 above, which are deleted within 30 days. To exercise your rights or ask questions, contact us at contact@cryptoandmoneysearch.com.
11. Data Retention
Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then permanently deleted. We do not retain any personal search inputs because we never collect them in the first place. Anonymised Google Analytics data is retained in accordance with our GA4 data retention setting, which is set to 14 months.
12. International Data Transfers
Our web server is located within the European Union. Data processed by Google Analytics and Google AdSense may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates. These transfers are conducted under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses and Data Processing Addendum, which provide appropriate safeguards for personal data transferred outside the EEA. For more information, please see Google's Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of the site after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
